The White Hart has a gorgeous location next to an old 14th century bridge over the River Arun. The only spoiler is that the modern bridge belonging to the A283 creates a little noise. The pub itself seemed quite small and cosy. But, there is a large garden, seemingly popular with kids and another small drinking area at the end of the bridge. We had a nice time watching a family of geese and some canoeists. But, it can certainly get busy. 3 ales were on - Sharp's Doom Bar & Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter are the regulars. The guest ale was Langham Godiva. In reference to the previous review, I think that loud music is a thing of the past. Despite the number of people, it was quite tranquil on our Saturday afternoon visit. Nice place.

Lovely pub in a lovely setting, it’s a shame that it seems to be owned by some sort of rock/blues festival promoter. I’ve driven down a few times for a nice quiet pint in a nice little pub by the river arun (probably what you’d expect from a nice little pub in the country?), however on numerous occasions I have arrived only to be greeted by a wall of noise (I refuse to call it music at this point) I’ve been down there with friends to enjoy a few pints and a chat, we’ve had to get over the bridge to be able to hear one another, the bands were playing so loud outside to the point that my car windows rattled as we drove in. The other times I’ve popped down, there has been weirdy beardys and crusty hippys banging on bongos and thrashing on ukulele’s in the bar, taking up a whole room in light of the pub being too tiny to accommodate any band. I wouldn’t mind so much but it’s the frequency of the things? Every weekend theres a band on some times in the day sometimes in the evening, and its totally random so there no predicting it to avoid it! 1 star for this pub, they should know their audience a bit better and take in to account that not everyone is a fan of appallingly played blues/rock and new age traveller folk music…aside from that is smacks of desparation? putting on gig after terrible gig in the vain attempt to scatch out a living, which says a lot about the owners, less concerned with the pub or its customers and more bothered about the money!

Finally under new management. Reverted now to a proper pub, not a restaurant with a bar as previously. New landlord isn't a miserable **** either. ;). 3 real ales, with one guest on rotation. Nice reasonably priced country food too. £2.50 a pint on selected beers Monday night. Nice to it back to a decent local.

A very pleasant pub in a nice riverside location. A good range of local ales and reasonably priced food, which was also good. The tables were a bit cramped but it was a busy Sunday. We found the service to be friendly and efficient. Overall a good visit.
