Nice old pub with the central bar but very average food and poor selection of ales with only 2 on at the time of our visit. costello - 20 Sep 2015 18:24 |
Perhaps not the best selection of ales in Brighton but the Bateman's Jewel in the Crown was delicious at just 2.50 per pint! Also saw Harveys Best available. This is a one-roomed old-fashioned place with a central wood-panelled bar that seemed to attract a varied crowd. paul_d102 - 5 Jun 2012 18:33 |
Popped in Sunday evening, choice of Harveys Sussex & four Caledonian beers - tried the Autumn Ale & Eighty Shilling, both in top condition. Traditional pub well worth a visit. boroboy23 - 10 Oct 2011 16:04 |
Really nice old fashioned pub, good beers, reasonable prices and attentive service. The food is a mixed bag however, my roast lamb shank was delicious with well cooked vegetables, tasty gravy and was just what the doctor ordered on a lazy Sunday afternoon, however both of the friends I was with opted for the Steak and Kidney pudding option and were disappointed by a crispy overcooked texture to the pudding and thought it also overpriced. In short, good for beer but play it safe if ordering food. Mr.Monkfish - 26 Sep 2011 18:51 |
