Timewarp maybe - but had more of the feel of walking in to a junk shop than a pub. Wasn't the cleanest of places either - a dog was dragging it's bum across the carpet when I went in. The carpet itself was mainly held together by matted dog hairs. I had a pint of the Incubus which was drinkable as opposed to good and as I put it down on the table I noticed the trails left by slugs on the table. It does have character and the locals are friendly but it is a bit shabby and not the cleanest of places. Snarling_Mallard - 5 Aug 2014 22:04 |
I can't work out why it's taken me so long to find this place - an absolute gem. From the outside it looks like someone's house. Inside it's surprisingly spacious, and whilst only two ales on, Incubus and something obscure from Whitstable slipped down well. Definately one to visit if you're in the area. (This now gives Folkestone five must-visit pubs.....) MankyBadger - 11 Apr 2009 07:50 |
What an absolute gem! This pub is stuck in a time warp and is what a good, old-fashioned local pub should be. No frills, just good beer and amazingly good company. The locals are extremely welcoming (I think they find strangers a bit of a novelty) and the landlord was great company. An absolute must if you're in that part of Kent. ETA - 5 Nov 2008 11:28 |
