| This pub is indeed closed, but boarded up and for sale. I think HTM69 is thinking of the Brickmakers Arms on Luton Road. The ex-Landlord, one of a notorious local criminal family bought this and renovated it. He did succeed in turning it around for a while, and the place appeared to be thriving, although no ales were on tap.
