On a daytime visit I found this a very agreeable chain pub. Friendly service, well-kept cask at a very reasonable £2.30 a pint and a relaxed environment. Definitely worth a visit. 8/10. wobblybob - 26 Oct 2016 17:21 |
Depends when you visit the Bridgewater as to the experience you get. Midweek, it is quite quiet. The food is good but not gourmet. It has plenty of TV's showing major sporting events and at least 3 local real ales on. The VIP card is also well worth purchasing as it can mean big savings at the bar, plus they have a loyalty card scheme where you buy 6 pints and get the seventh free. The bar is usually extremely well staffed and the staff are always quite friendly. Locals are also friendly as well and it has a nice atmosphere if not particularly intimate given the size of the place. However, at the weekend the place is rammed which is great if you fancy a night out and some music, but not great if you fancy a quiet pint! benjie101 - 5 Oct 2010 19:34 |
PollyP - strange that you should only review 4 pubs, all on 20th October and that they should be all Smith & Jones pubs in diverse parts of North West England. I have no problem with brewer/pub employees reviewing pubs so long as they identify themselves as such. We are not all as stupid as you....... wirraldrinker - 27 Oct 2009 11:48 |
I visited this pub whilst visiting a friend I found the service and food of good quality and at reasonable prices.Often not a combination we find together these days. PollyP - 20 Oct 2009 12:42 |
