Missed out on their 2 steaks and a bottle of wine for £20.00 offer so just had a beer instead. Wasn't too impressed with the Wold Top Bitter (not the pub's fault - just not to my taste). Pleasant enough - and busy enough - little lounge bar and very handy for our hotel next door !! mcroyal - 5 May 2014 23:22 |
Decent enough pub, a tad expensive at 3.15 for Wold Top, but a very nice Barmaid, made up for it. Food looked good but didn't try it. Hollow.legs - 28 Jun 2012 20:52 |
Not bad at all. Looked a good food menu and the Tetleys was absolutely spot on. Good job I was in the mood for a walk or I could have nestled for some considerable time. Incredible views outside when the weather's right. willesden_seadog - 29 May 2009 20:43 |
This is effectively a hotel bar, but with a load of regulars from the surrounding flats. Used to be a top place when it had it's own brewery several years ago. It's still OK, with pleasant decor and a fair range of real ales, although not as inventive as previously. They now tend to stick with larger breweries beers. I had Hobgoblin last time I called which was pretty good. Still probably the best pub on the South Cliff. ROBCamra - 15 Dec 2008 16:17 |
