I've been here. I shan't return. ReInnCarnation - 3 Jul 2011 13:04 |
Just a glorified restaurant and not the best prices for a Brains joint either, bit on the expensive side. My companion and I however were starving after a day out in the area and ordered a humble burger each and waited what seemed like forever for it Anyway more importantly the beer, the Brains Bread of Heaven I tried was very bland indeed and rather ruined by kiddies running about the place. Never again! MisterX - 6 Apr 2010 17:45 |
Very nicely decorated pub, clean and inviting. Had a good welcome from the Barmaid Karen who was very efficient, informative and polite,as were the other two young girls i met before leaving. My pint of Brains bitter was very good and the ploughmans good also, although my butter portions were still a bit solid. If there was a downside i would say it were, what appeared to be the Manager/bar supervisor, who really only appeared to lord it over the rest of the staff.Oh and why do they always put rubbish hand dryers and cheap toilet paper, in these places.Apart from that had a good experience and would try again.. james55westhead - 19 Aug 2009 02:47 |
This has always been a funny pub, lots of potential, nice decor, food is good, but like the previous reviewer said, the service has always been terrible, I've been there with work mates (with only maybe 10 of us in the party) and it's taken them an hour to bring us any food even though we'd pre-booked. Needs to be run properly! levinuk78 - 17 Apr 2009 10:41 |
Excellent setting and decor, and good value food. Unfotunately let down by poorly kept beer (Brains) and watresses and a kitchen who appeared not to communicate (a vegetarian moussaka comprising meat, roast pork served instead of lamb, and poor excuses for delays in service (not enough bar staff and an influx of cyclists). I suggest go on a quiet weekday. stricketts - 14 Apr 2009 13:28 |
