Unbadged & partially obscured handpumps suggesting no real ale to be had. Seems a bit of a lost cause inside. No atmosphere to speak of.

With a poor ale range in Gallaghers, we decided to give the River View a shot. Both pubs overlook the Mersey and the ferry terminal. Hence the name of this one. There are handpulls here, but no real ales were on during our visit. Keg options were Fosters, Carling, Strongbow, Becks Vier, Stella Artois, Theakston Mild, John Smiths Extra & Guinness. The interior is modern and uninspiring.

London Pride was the only ale available last night and it was too warm in my opinion.
Lively pub though.

Only ale available on Friday night was London Pride but it was well kept.
The pub was more than half full but most punters were on their way to Pacific Road Theatre.
There are rumours that the theatre is to close soon. I hope not as I enjoy my visits and the River View will certainly suffer if it does.

The new '18'? month owners have really grasped the thorn and
really worked hard to attract customers. Their hard selling point
has been food. It must be good, well fantastic, by the crowds in
on Sun.
But, as a drinker only at the bar, I was not to feel unwelcome, just
a little hungry!
I just fed myself with the thought, is this a pub or a restaurant?
