| The Cart & Horses is a Holt's house on the road out of Astley towards Leigh. It was the first of 17 pubs I sampled in the area on Saturday. Two ales were on - Lee's Bitter and an ale from Shepherd Neame. But nobody knew which one it was. We chose to sit in the garden at the back of the pub which had a bouncy castle to keep little ones entertained. There was also an outdoor patio area, popular with smokers.
