| Cold pub in the winter, with maybe one beer on "caskmarque" variety, sometime two at weekends, landlords seem somewhat dissolusioned. Food pretty good and ordering it gets a smile from the guvnors. Better in summer as a canal side watering hole. baddypurt - 2 Feb 2011 16:30 |
| Located on the restored Montgomery Canal in Maesbury Marsh. Good food, served lunchtimes 12-2 Tue-Sat and on Sunday afternoons, and a full evening menu served Tue-Sat. The pub is closed on Mondays. | Six of us arrived, admittedly unannounced, at about seven, one evening last week for liquid refreshment and food. The welcome was warm, the location interesting, the surroundings comfortable. The menu items looked imaginatively chosen as did the wine and beers. When the food arrived it was very good, but there was an inordinately long wait between the starter and main course (over 45 mins), with no apology or explanation, which severely marred an otherwise good experience. tocsin - 7 Jul 2009 22:13 |
