Now called THE PIG'S EARS. Claims to be a great beer cellar but, when we went, there were only three listed and only two of them were on - neither of which was remarkable. Adding the fact that the place was absolutely deserted (no customers except ourselves) obviously others shared our opinion! Don't bother... Trev - 13 Mar 2015 19:13 |
Very likable place, some good beers on started off with a Brewdog 5am Saint, then a bottle of Le Chouffe which is something you dont see much over here and then the rack of ribs, with fries and a pint of ale which i cant remember for 12 squid. paddypint - 18 Sep 2012 00:42 |
As the previous review said it has now reopened as the "pigs ear", they serve a good selection of real ale and "craft beers" with some fairly unusual ones among the choices. The beer was well kept and my friend who usually drinks lager liked some of the real ale on offer. Was very busy with drinkers and eaters on my visit which made it a good lively atmosphere. Bar staff were very efficient and pleasant. Worth a visit. beershot - 8 Jun 2012 12:34 |
This place is now called the Pig's Ears Bar and Cellar. Although it seems to be run by the same owners as previosuly. It's a fairly trendy place that serves a couple of real ales and some trendy lagers and craft beers on keg, plus food. Ales on during my visit were West Berkshire Tilting Charlie & Williams Brothers Cock o' the Walk. The bar staff seemed fairly keen. The place itself seems a bit dark and depressing, as you might expect in a cellar. But this could be a valuable addition to the real ale scene. blue_scrumpy - 8 Apr 2012 10:19 |
