| the beehive is one of two pubs in harthill. it sits on the main road through the village, and is the home on the "harthill morrismen" folk dancers. first impression was of a clean, looked-after place. outside painted white. attractively lit in the evenings. there is parking at the rear, plus a separate spill-over park at the side. *** it is not an overly large premises. inside there is a central bar serving a comfortable lounge and tap room, plus a pool room a the rear. there is also a function room above the pub. *** looking along the bar there were 3 cask beers on offer. tetley, taylors landlord, and kelham island easy rider. the taylors landlord was on form, and the service polite and speedy. the leather-bound meals menu had a nice selection and ranging around �7-8 for main courses. a small group dining at the time seemed pleased with their choice. *** verdict: pleasant, quiet little pub. would be happy to visit again and possibly try the meals. let down a bit by the toilets, which I thought are ready for a re-furb. reynard - 26 Aug 2008 20:55 |
