I visit here quite frequently in the evenings. If it is a little busy it can take an age to get served, which is off putting. Interior of the pub is good, it has character and is well maintained. I find often on Friday and Saturday evenings, no sooner have I bought my pint and have just selected a seat to sit, and the bell for last orders is ringing! It is not uncommon for this place to start ringing that bell between 10.45 and 11pm. I feel this is a little early, and often the subsequent bells are ignored by punters who dont intend on rushing their drinks to get out of there. I found the food to be very tasty and came out in good time. Sauces are a pain. They have one wooden plate which contains all the sauces you could dream off. However, you have to wait for a waiter to bring it over, and they take it back away with them, so you have to try and get as much as you think you will need. It would be more convenient to have sauces that a customer can keep for the duration of their meal. localyokel1 - 8 Jan 2011 18:39 |
Went for the Sunday roast yesterday (Dec 12th). The beef was excellent value for money. Nice couple of pints of Sharp's Doom Bar to help it down. Fuller's London Pride on too. gp49 - 13 Dec 2010 16:01 |
This used to be a decent pub but is now crap. They've taken the kids play items out of the garden. They've also fenced off the garden so you have to go through the pub to get to it, so you can't take a dog into it. Service is crap - I waited over 5 minutes to get served while the barmaid chatted to a friend on her mobile phone. Has a choice of 3 real ale handpumps but the beer is always off. This pub is only interested in you if you are ordering food but the one and only time I actually went there to eat the kitchen was closed! graham2 - 6 Aug 2008 21:54 |
