The beer was excellent on a recent visit.
Standards of food have however slipped. Acceptable, but not in my view as good as previously. Steak was smaller and less tender, and service very slow.

Still worth 7 out of 10, but previously was worth 9

It's been almost 3 years since my last visit, when I found it closed. But I was determined to get here whilst in Minehead this time. It's certainly been well refurbished and still enjoys a lovely location next to the harbour. The only drawback is the restrictive Marstons range - Ringwood Best, Boon Doggle & Old Thumber & Wychwood Hobgoblin. It's 10 minutes walk from the station along the seafront. Probably the best pub in the town.

Just had one of our jollies in Minehead, we missed this pub last time so headed straight for it when we arrived and boy are we glad we did, this is a great pub and worth the short walk to from the town centre, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, not the best selection of beers, but enough to keep us there for a few hours

Recently revisited whilst down for the West Somerset Railway Steam Gala. It has been very tastefully tidied up and upgraded and is now well worth a visit. Ales in good nick ( Ringwood, due to the Marston's connection, and Otter ).

Totally changed since I was last here almost 40 years ago for my Geography field trip. It was called the Quay Hotel then. I wish people would leave things alone!!!!!
More of a restaurant now, with a sizeable area left for drinkers by the front door.
Beer range mainly from Ringwood. Not really a favourite of mine. However nice welcome and the food was pleasant. If a little on the expensive side for Minehead
