Yes, it is a bit scruffy and dated. But the service is prompt and friendly, and the Landlord has made my partner and me, both newcomers, feel very welcome, as do the locals. Food is what you'd expect for the price, and a tasty half-time filler if you're in for a session. .... + the luxury and freedom of a traditional urinal, where a gentleman can really express himself! filthyoshabby - 14 Jun 2014 22:25 |
this is my hometown local, warm beer, cold food is its motto and it's fairly accurate. Having said that, its a good place to have a sunday afternoon pint watching the football, and as long as you dont mess about its no trouble either. If you're out with mates and you fancy some lagers, this is the place for you, if you're looking for a gastropub or you're knocking on a bit, try the whalebone down the other end of town. knowsgoodpubs - 21 Apr 2010 16:47 |

Don't bother going to this pub its scruffy and dated and the service is shocking. Staff act like they are doing you a favour in serving you. The beer selection is nothing special. I complained about the beer tasting off and despite being pleasant about it the manager was rude and confrontational and I was told to leave. imp123 - 4 Feb 2009 13:34 |
