| Lovely setting, great interior, dog-friendly, good beer. Pricey though. Expected to see it busier on a mild dry Saturday night but the London-bred landlord seems to prefer to run it as "my gaff for holding court with my clique", which isn't terribly conducive or convivial. | Called in at lunchtime for a meal, quiet until 1 o'clock when it got busy. Nice location, tasty food, unobtrusive background music, good selection of beers and only one noisy child (with an even noisier mother). | The Navvie is always hit and miss for food and staff can be either amazingly pleasant or couldn't give a damn. One thing remains constant, good beer. Go there to drink, not to eat.
