| I wish there were more pubs like this one. Its well used by the locals but they were friendly and welcoming to visitors like us and our dog. Called in for a lunch time pint - good selection of real ales on hand pumps (gravity would have been better!), and enjoyed it so much we went back again the next evening for an excellent meal. The menu is varied and should suit most tastes - although we didn't try the kangaroo steaks! Prices are reasonable, with excellent service from the welcoming staff. | Arrived 50 minutes before opening time on a chilly day with ever-present threat of drizzle in the air. Dithered about whether to wait or walk on to my alternative lunch stop and decided in the end to stay. Glad I did. The beer is good and the food even better. mikemm - 28 May 2013 17:18 |

| Been to The Lion several times this year. Seems at times to be struggling a bit, but beer was fine with 4 ever changing RAs. Strong community feel about the place with many photos and collages around the walls and in the loos. Lays claim to the following accolades.....
