Tribute, Wye Valley HPA, Courage Directors and the seasonal Charles Wells/Adnams Red Robin Special Ale were on sale yesterday in this large, canalside dining pub. Service faded a little towards the end of our meal (I think we were the only ones upstairs) but the beer was served at a nice temperature and in decent condition. paul_d102 - 27 Dec 2018 11:36 |
A most excellent boozer since the refit. I go in regularly on Monday evenings to find a reasonable atmosphere, lovely decor and very good real ales. The bar snacks (e.g. in the shell pistachios) are up-market too. The food is excellent - one for special occasions..... DanBoy10 - 5 Feb 2012 21:21 |
Gourmet food, sourced from Aubrey Allen's butchers is really good (bit more than usual pub grub, but it is a cut above - get what you pay for). Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Occasionally struggle to get a seat during busier periods. patrickfontdean - 25 Oct 2011 16:10 |
The refit is very good and is now a lovely bar and restaurant. It has many lagers and a few ales o tap. One local one. I would happily visit again. alerick - 15 Jan 2011 22:37 |
Sorry to say my pint of Bombardier was on the turn, must have been a bad day. Having said that though the place ain't so bad. It looks like a new build out of old bricks nicely situated by a canal with passing barges and dog walkers. The nearby road bridge and rap from the speakers compete as to what is most intrusive. The interior is on two levels with a disabled lift provided , Radar toilet next to the front entrance. Three real ale pumps and a good selection of global lagers.Food looked OK and the diners left very little. Mid /late twenties seemed to be the age range of the mjority. bee578 - 12 Sep 2009 09:18 |
