A disappointing visit real, a restaurant trying to be a pub. lots of seating at the front and rear for drinking only, but if you just pop in for a casual meal, forget it, there is very little seating for meals. Also for a standard Sunday roast, it was pricey compared other pubs and not presented that well. Westers9568 - 5 May 2012 16:37 |
A Greene King pub/restaurant serving the usual selection of keg IPA, Speckled Hen and Abbot. Nothing to recommend it on the ale front. The large bar area is smart with comfy sofas and high stools and the separate dining area looked equally smart. Has it own website at durhamox.net paul_d102 - 15 Apr 2012 09:38 |
Driving past we noticed that the Durham was under new ownership which can only be a good thing. The bar area was bright and airy and the bar staff friendly and welcoming. One of the new owners introduced herself to us, shes new to the business but was honest and very charming. The children all went out in the back garden to let some steam off so we took advantage and had a relaxing drink on the decking at the front. Menu looked good so we will definately be back for a longer visit. favsis - 21 Aug 2011 16:35 |

A pub trying to be a restaurant, but for all that, the food was nice and the ale was on top form. Too expensive, though. turbohorsebox - 1 Sep 2010 14:02 |
