Friendly one room local. Food was good, with large portions. I tried the Doom Bar today, which was well kept. Well worth a visit. captaineric - 4 Jul 2012 22:50 |
A good well run pub in the popular village of Silverton. Reseanable prices for beer and food. 10/10 montie49 - 31 Jul 2011 13:32 |
Went to to this pub yesterday and was very impressed. It must be increasingly hard to run a pub these days whili keeping costs down, but this pub seems to have got the balance just right. The real ales were well kept behind the bar and as was the larger reasonably priced. The ploughmans lunch i had was huge and delicious and again a good price. I would visit again for sure. fj54lcu - 15 Mar 2009 12:35 |
Nice pub in a nice Village, Silverton is only about 8 miles North of Exeter, alomost half way between Exeter and Tiverton on the old road. the pub serves it's Ales from a temperature controlled stillage behind the bar, all the beers are drawn directly from the cask and this is the brewery tap for the nearby Exe Valley Brewery, although i understand the other two pubs in the Village also serve the Ale too. The Pub it's self is full of charm with scrubbed tables and chairs and a lovely solid wooden bar top. You always seem to get a friendly welcome in this pub from the jovial landlady, food is nice too, using local produce and very heart warming, nothing gastro about this pub grub!! Definitely worth a visit along with the Three Tuns at the other end of the Village, i have never been in the Silverton Inn but all three pubs look welcoming, how does a village of this size still have three good pubs and all still seem to be doing a good trade.
