None of my business I suppose, but I have to say I agree with the Mallard here. Its something I've seen Mappiman do too and its pretty useful and not confusing so long as the wording is clear. It is a shame that the owner/adminstrator of the BITE site seem to have given up on it. Among other things, the top ten pub list is now very suspect in terms of accuracy and the various 'accolades' at the top of the home page are way, way out of date. But while people still post about their experiences inside of the pubs they visit BITE still has its uses. on_the_brightside - 12 May 2019 17:05 |
It may have escaped your attention but for some years now the site hasn't been properly maintained and updated resulting in pubs that exist not being added and pubs that are closed not being deleted. Not allowing open pubs to be added while retaining those that are closed is more meaningless and disjointed than mentioning that there are other pubs in a vicinity apart from what is listed on here. Not sure what your idea about 'the point of the site is' but surely it is to inform people. If you think any post should be deleted then report it for removal. Snarling_Mallard - 12 May 2019 10:22 |
Please have the common sense to post only about BITE listed pubs; otherwise the content becomes meaningless and disjointed. randolf7 - 11 May 2019 10:40 |
The neighbouring Brickmakers "good beer guide" entry doesn't want to be on this site - probably due to it's very un PC clientele - though some are just downright ignoramuses. It does do a good pint though just plagued by 'iggos' who clog up the entrance and pretend to be deaf. ..and before any of you precious bitches out there soil your panties, yes this comment is about another pub than the one listed but the site has stopped adding anything new for some time now so it's the only way to add a comment about nearby places. Has an ever changing beer line up often from Burton Bridge and Black Hole breweries. Place is quite smart but very small. Food although presented well is not particularly great and is expensive. Gammon with veg and salad?!?! Has winter and summer beer festivals which are usually worth the visit. goalman2000 - 27 May 2010 23:29 |
