A major disappointment. This is everything a country pub shouldnt be. A lovely building which has been totally ruined - whoever did the interior decoration has about as much taste as a weak warm lager. Food is overpriced, service was poor when we were there and atmosphere was dire - the moon has more. If your idea of a nice country pub is teenagers in uniforms selling indifferent food and and drink in 17th century building that has been made into a bland characterless functional diner, then this is for you. I recommend you avoid it.

We went there this afternoon on a bank holiday with my inlaws for lunch. It's definitely more of a food pub than a pub pub. The food was lovely and service was outstanding. We were in the corner yet we were never in need of summoning someone over. The staff were polite and delightful and we never had to wait for anything. Being a bank holiday, it was really busy but it never felt like it. Child friendly but not overrun with kids. Would totally recommend! Eton Mess was beautiful!!!

Lots of tables outside and now lots of shade too. Shame it was so windy!

like the refurbished hogget a place designed to eat and thus not really a pub any longer in the true fashion. nevertheless drink in here some lunch times and always found the place to serve a good pint, london pride this week! will keep coming back to the see the friendly faces, wouldnt use in the evening as i guess a bit too busy for the drinker

Good menu, decent food and great garden in the summer(although they could do with providing some shade for the more delicate customers!)
Service a bit slow, even on a weekday lunchtime.

No longer a pub but part of the Blubeckers chain, shame.
