Large selection of beers accompanied by a free egg cup of peanuts, surly staff. martinxgreene - 16 Dec 2014 17:27 |
As its name suggests, popular for pies and more of an eating place, but also served a decent pint. alexw - 24 Mar 2013 08:12 |
Hasn't been a review on here for a while so I thought i'd post one, went in there the other day, simply fantastic. As djl said, it's not about the real ale it's about types of beer from all over the world and the range is amazing. Very relaxed atmosphere and wonderful place to spend an afternoon. This is a great friendly little place, a fantastic range of beers and pies to die for. A superb range of draught continental beers.I love the Dutch Lindeboom. There is even a real hand pulled cider on, though this is drunk at your own peril as I have found out! Getting a table can be a bit of a problem, but in my experience they free up fairly quickly if you're willing to hang around (and believe me it is worth the wait). According to the website and displays in the venue, the pies are served until 11pm every night. I know I've eaten there late and seen pies coming out of the kitchen well into the night. Well worth a visit Dand - 9 Apr 2009 11:18 |
Whilst the ambiance of Pi was undenaibly appealing, the size of the place presents drawbacks. When I went there la while back, with a party of six to celebrate a special occasion, we waited more than twenty minutes to be seated. Nevertheless, the appeal of the pies on offer (which had been highly recommended to us by friends) made it worth the wait in our opnion, that is until we tried to place our order at the bar and were told that they stopped serving food at 8pm. It had just turned 8 O'clock, and technically we had been in the establishment for almost half an hour by then. We left....hungry. :-( Girasol - 8 Apr 2009 15:27 |
