Reasonable enough though those 2cl Kölsch glasses get on your nerves. At least here they anticipate you need another before you finish the current one. The poor Euro makes it quire reasonable for a beer now too. As has been mentioned old school beer hall type place with small bar area for those who sit at the bar and handy for the main station. A very local bar adjacent to the railway line bewteen the main station and Hansaring. Impressive wood panelled interior bedecked with military paintings. Kolsch was pleasant enough and the food looked traditional. Worth a visit. Mothroy - 8 Dec 2012 09:21 |
The Schreckenskammer brewery was bombed in 1943. This 'tap' was opened in 1960 and is little altered since. At the counter is a small stand-up bar with some tables on the street in front. The remaining rooms are in typical beer-hall decor with scrubbed-top tables and sawdust floors. The Klsch is served direct from small casks on the counter. The beer is brewed by Dom and the casks are filled without added CO2. Recommended. hdrawnsley - 7 Mar 2011 20:42 |
