Handy for Foregate Street station, four ales on, had Butty Bach which was good. Quiet as had only just opened, friendly barmaid. ellisref - 7 Jun 2019 20:59 |
Visiting Worcester for the first time, amongst the things I wished to see was a memorial to the Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes, tragically killed in November 2014. He played for Worcestershire a few years previously & has been respectfully honoured by the club. The Cricketers Pub was another destination & they had a bat on display signed by many fine cricketers, including Hughes. With that intro, the pub could have been a dive & I'd still extol it, but it was actually quite fine, friendly & quiet, and I had a reflective pint of Doom Bar (3.20). Good Beers - with Sadlers and Woods on tap - I went for the Shropshire Lass and it was decent enough. Might have picked the wrong night to go in - but oh the clientèle. Like Jeremy Kyle's waiting room. The couple opposite were debating on whether to get another drink or not. He seemed to think the outcome would be decided on the likelihood of fellatio. At least that would stop them from having children, I suppose. Don't think there is enough to make me want to come back. Mappiman - 26 Feb 2015 15:03 |
me and my partner last visited this pub nearly 12 months ago and had heard that it had recently been taken over,as we walked through the door the changes were obvious, clean, tidy and as for the clientele we had previously come across it all seemed very relaxed and a lot more friendly, the staff were polite and my pint of cask bitter was excellent, me and my partner decided to stay for lunch and two main meals for 8.00 was fantastic value for money, its clear to see that this pub is on the up,the staff mentioned to us that it is due a refurbishment,it wont be long before this pub will be the place to be,we will be back!!!!!!! james_bates123 - 22 Mar 2012 09:25 |
