its clean on week days if you leave before 7 in the evening theres no deafening music its cheap as beans, i cant count the number of times ive smashed bottles of corona (2 for 3) into pints of fosters (2 a pint) rude staff, ruder clientle opposite regs kebab and chick o land dies after 11 when everyone goes to 11s next door expensive food for what it is never seen a less happy chef and i work in restaurants and i make it my duty to irritate them in every way ruined the building Brunel lived in while he built the GWR rain network, but ive used it more often than the carpet shop it used to be toastboaster - 1 Jul 2011 06:50 |
I Love Smith & Jones's Pubs, this one is no exception. Popped in on the night they reopened after a refurb back last Nov. The Wychwood Hobgoblin was possibly the best pint i have ever had of the stuff, the interior was comfy and looked good, the staff friendly, and the beer was cheap. I was actually visiting the new wetherspoon pub on the day but out the two this wins hands down, well done barracuda group! 9/10 fat_beer_badger - 2 Jan 2010 20:57 |
The Brunel is centrally located, clean, chain pub , its modern, clean , bland and corporate , basically everything you would expect from chain pubs really. It has a good selection of beers, and other drinks , and bland corporate food that is reasonably well prepared. Does what it says on the tin really. Its good for sports watching with live sports and good TV,s. The service is the downside bar staff are not friendly, and not particularly efficient either, and the row of grotty chips and burger bars across the road are not very appealing in terms of outlook. jonnyboy012 - 1 Jan 2010 13:18 |
Definitely the centre of all the action, plus handy for takeaway location. wilts99 - 25 Oct 2008 22:11 |
Quality toilets. Shame about the Pub itself. KVKCBQ - 28 Jun 2008 20:11 |
