An old coaching inn which unfortunately doesnt really have the feel of a traditional pub. However, a nice pint of Spitfire to be had and biddenden's vintage cider in bottles. Pleasant enough

I think the last reviewer must have been extremely unlucky - or else is particularly fussy. I've taken several people to this pub and absolutely everyone has agreed that the food is first class. I was there again last night and the place was completely full with (apparently happy) diners. On a Thursday night, that speaks volumes. Service was also excellent and the beer has always been good in my experience.

Nice enough pub but rubbish food. Agree with previous reviewer that this is a restaurant rather than a pub. The beer is kept well but the food is substandard in many ways. Each course tasted like it had been warmed up. Nothing seemed fresh/freshly cooked. This is probably because the menu is far to extensive for a country pub/restaurant.

Called in here for a bite to eat on the way home from a day out on Sunday.
Only fancied a light meal/snack and was told they only do main meals on a Sunday (All priced at a tenner +).
We left without any food or beer as a result.
Seemed very busy but they should remember that we dont all want a roast you know........

Called in here on way back from Canterbury and first impressions are good. A bit disappointed with ales on offer and the Summer Lightening I had was warm. However, the food is both great value and very good indeed. I had the scallops wrapped in bacon with giant grilled prawns and my wife had the fish mixed grill. Both were large portions, delicious and great value at 15.95. Would visit again if in the area.
