| Large roadhouse style pub, unusual in a very small and quite isolated village, but partially explained, I suppose, by the rebuild after the Fauld Expolsion nearly 70 years ago. Two separate bar areas connected by a cross-corridor just inside the entrance. Nice decor, good heavy wooden doors and some fairly stylish panelling in the public bar, didn't look into the lounge on this visit. Very welcoming and friendly staff and locals, supremely well-kept Bass on tap as well as Pedigree and, although no guest on during our visit, the number of pump-clips would seem to indicate a healthy attitude to good ale. | Fairly remote location for this pub at the top of Hanbury Hill. A good starting point for a walk around the Fauld impact crater. Decent Pedigree and Bass on when I went in on an empty Sunday afternoon. Big pub with several rooms but suffers a little bit from its location.
