Still an unspoilt old fashioned pub with separate bar and saloon. Had a Rebellion IPA which was served from a row of polypins - which was drinkable enough. I was the only customer though and the previous poster's comment about it not being around forever may well ring true in this affluent part of commuter belt Bucks. Buckinghamshires only entry in the CAMRA Guide to Heritage Pubs. Ran by the same family since the 1920s and unchanged since the last refit in the 1930s. Two rooms - not accessible to each other from inside (although there may be a portal through the gents) - I went into the public bar. Long bar with no pumps (beer is gravity fed from barrels) and furniture like your nan's house. I loved it. Rebellion IPA for £2.70 was a result too. Worth seeking out - they won't be around forever. 'A real timewarp. Public and saloon - neither were very busy when we visited on a Tuesday night. Superb choice of ales - 3 x Rebellion, Brakspear's Bitter, very reasonably priced for the area and all served straight out the barrel. Place has the faintest of musty smells which kind of suits it. As far as I could tell, no telly, no music. As for the food - no idea, but that isn't what I'd go to a pub like this for. Not the sort of place for the pretentious or the trendy, but suits me down to the ground. Actually owned by the National Trust and according to a certificate in the saloon bar, the interior is listed in CAMRAs inventory of notable (or something) pub interiors.
