Bit sweary in the bar. Does nice food. I enjoyed a nice pint of Felinfoel. ed_hodge - 9 May 2012 20:50 |
Strange name - of the 4 pubs in Borth, this is furthest away from the railway station! It's got everything you need - dining area, bar area, sport on TV - but as a visitor this didn't quite have the ambience of either the Friendship or the Victoria nearby. (Locals may have adifferent view?) ed_hodge - 7 May 2009 18:29 |
This is a nice pub. In the summer there are usually two ales on, all year round Rev James is served. It's a well kept pint but is a little cold. THe food is good value hearty home cooked pub fare. I can recommend the braised beef in a red wine and garlic sauce, and the chips are excellent! GaryR - 15 Dec 2008 22:34 |
All The pubs in Borth are about 20-30 miles from Aberdovey - unless you swim the estuary - not advised. The Railway was taken over by a local lad a couple of years ago. The pub is lively and sometimes raucus - lots of swearing in the bar if you go for that sort of thing. I stopped going there for a while but things seem to be settling down - I think the boss is getting more of a grip now. 2020oldfogey - 16 Jul 2008 19:46 |
