Apparently closed in February. TiaMariaJim - 27 Aug 2010 15:02 |
I phoned this pub yesterday to book a table for saturday and was told it had closed! I was totally shocked and felt it inappropriate to ask what had happened. Can anyone offer information on how long it's been shut, on the market etc etc. My forthcoming weekend break was to have been based around our visit so I'm very saddened. My wife and I stayed here well over 20 years ago and this was our first return visit. There were different faces and a pub face lift. Everything from my phone booking to the actual service was exceptionally friendly. The food was at the top end of our expectations both in price, choice and taste. I think every food taste must have been accounted for (but no curries I noticed). They even gave my daughter access to their wireless connection to the internet - unusual in privately owned pubs. We had the Steak and kidney pie, the beef lasagne (looked superb!) and the salmon. There were two real ales on - the Youngs Special and a local Sussex brew. I had a few pints of the Youngs and it was superb. No accommodation here at the moment but watch this space. All in all - excellent and I can see us popping down here from time to time to have more of the same. ButchEgg - 10 Aug 2009 13:08 |
What a lovely pub to visit!!! I came here a few weeks ago with a friend on the off chance of having some lunch one sunday. The owners were really friendly and chatty and the food was superb and very reasonably priced. angel1984 - 3 Feb 2009 19:54 |
