| Proper old fashioned village local adorned with old enamel signage. Very friendly and jovial host and clientelle. Three ales on two from Mighty Oak and Uffington from the Pewsey brewery. All went down well. Not the most accessible of pubs but there are 3 buses a day stop outside the place mon to sat (the 313 Dunmow - Saffron Walden bus). | A real pub,no food but a few crisps and nuts.Pleasant garden,an interesting interior with many old beer bottles and stage posters(Derek the landlord was on the stage in his earlier life.Always a couple of real ales in good nick,this is a rare pub in this area(well in any area!!!!) support this real pub sporting a witty and interesting landlord.Well worth a visit. rockface - 15 Mar 2010 19:37 |
