Called in for lunch today and had a lovely roast and a couple of good pints of Late Red, didn't notice any guest ales but a good range of Shepard ales. Staff were friendly as were the locals, watched the Rugby in the public bar by the open fire. Talisker - 12 Feb 2012 22:38 |
Really nice friendly village pub with a good atmosphere. The beer which i tried was Master Brew which went down very well. The food was also very enjoyable. multiplexor - 17 Apr 2011 15:27 |
Great place, stayed there a few weeks ago. The hotel was perfect, comfy and quiet nice clean bathrooms. Pub has a great atmosphere full of a mix of locals and travelers alike, the staff are really friendly, even chatted to the landlady who has just taken over making lots of changes to the place, is looking really good. Whole place was lovely, (definitely order the wexford mushrooms - delicious!) really great atmosphere definitely worth a visit! Izzy033 - 10 Jun 2010 18:37 |
The castellated frontage makes the place more imposing as you approach than it actually is when you go in. A friendly enough village local with reasonable beer. The Spitfire was okay on this visit. anonymous - 9 May 2010 10:03 |
This is a fabulous pub, with food to die for - the fire warmed and made a cosy atmosphere, good wine list, great location with easy parking and we will certainly be eating at this delightful and friendly pub again.
