| Eleven months later and we retrun, my birthday celebration. Five adults and two small children. Two beers on, Harveys and Kent Brewery 'Black & Gold', log fire, warm friendly atmosphere, everybody in our party loved the place, food excellent. Tony the landlord welcomed us. | Had A really good evening and hope the new landlady and landlord do well to make this a really good place to go too. Timothy Taylor landlord was on tonight and was served in superb condition. Have not eaten in here yet but have in the previous pub where the landlord was head chef - if the food in the white horse is as good as where he used to be then it will be well worth a visit to eat as well as drink. lot14 - 31 Dec 2012 00:19 |
| Another visit with three friends, another good time. Timothy Taylor Landlord and Farriers Christmas Ale (Wow!) on handpump, food on the specials board £10 a head. Mussels in Cider starter, Beef in Ale Pie, then sat in comfy leather chairs alongside the log fire. Lovely atmosphere, Tony and his staff made us feel welcome. | Yes, the pub has re-opened. The landlord Tony is an award-winning chef and I've heard good reports on the food. We enjoyed scallops with the best chips ever. People rave over Belgian chips but these are proper chunky chips. The Whitstable Bay handpumped beer was good to. The whole place has been given a lick of paint, a badly needed freshen up. | nothing on this pub since 2011 lead me to believe it has been sold but is now reopen. Good food, steak pudding and slow cooked belly pork plus several pints of an excellent oyster stout from whitstable. Pub deserves far better than its 3.9 rating. CaptainDave - 6 Oct 2012 10:47 |
