More of a hotel/restaurant with a bar than a pub with rooms, but what a lovely place. We had two really enjoyable days here - food is excellent, range of beers fair. mozzzzzz - 18 Jul 2016 11:48 |
The sign outside describes this pub as a freehouse but the beers were both from the Marston's stable - Brakspear Bitter & Ringwood Best. Served too cold for my liking, the former was average whereas the Ringwood was slightly better (I think this is the regular ale). Neither of these brews are very strong so £3.40 per pint was a reasonable price to pay for them. However, this isn't really a pub for drinkers (save for two locals playing cards at one end of the bar) - it is essentially given over to dining and seems to be a destination pub too and I have to say that the food was excellent albeit somewhat pricey (as are all gastropubs in the Cotswolds). It's a nicely furnished pub in a modern Cotswold style and the restaurant staff were all friendly and very professional. In conclusion, if you are going at the weekend in the evening, then go to eat and I think you'll enjoy it - we did. paul_d102 - 18 Apr 2015 11:20 |
Came here for lunch with my parents who live nearby-ish. The roast really was delicious but I have to say the puddings really let the lunch down. Not one was homemade and all tasted synthetic. It is such a lovely pub with lovely ales it coudl just go up a notch by having better puddings! wandering_alice - 20 Feb 2011 21:33 |
Having stumbled across this pub on a drive round the Cotswolds and being tempted in by the charming and well kept exterior, we abandoned our plans for the day and spent a lazy afternoon in the grounds of this fantastic rural pub soaking up the summer sunshine and unwinding. This place is full of rustic charm, with very friendly staff, a cosy bar (plenty of books to read) and pleasant restaurant area. The food was also very very good and the coffee delicious (ordered coffee for 2 and was treated to a huge cafetiere pot giving us 5 cups worth). The Lamb Inn also does accommodation - it will be top of my list for a visit if ever I'm back in that neck of the woods. thebunster - 25 Jun 2010 19:37 |
