Visited last summer but forgot to post. A wonderful proper pub that served some of the best beer I've had in a great village atmosphere. Seen it is for sale which presume accounts for absence from 2014 Beer Guide. mtaylor40 - 2 Mar 2014 09:15 |
A great place. Visited last Sunday. Food choice was limited to pizzas and baguettes, but there were good. Two real ales on gravity behind the bar. I had a Plain Ales Arty Farty which was nice. Very cosy pub, with real fire, and a friendly welcome. I would have liked to have stayed all afternoon. apologue73 - 22 Nov 2013 12:30 |
Visited recently on a Sunday afternoon for first time in several months - still eccentric and wacky! Crop Circle in great nick. Mad game of spoof taking place in one corner, lunch party in another corner consuming vats of wine - great atmosphere ! Still one of the best boozers in the area. smithy384 - 18 Jun 2011 14:47 |
Great, brilliant, fab little boozer in the middle of the beautiful Somerset countryside. Muddy boots and muddy dogs, comfortable seats and the best ale for miles. Staff and locals alike are a pleasure to chat too all this and the craziest little jukebox i have ever seen. Walked in and wobbled out, what a brilliant night - will return when i can. Keep it real. Beer is kept on a stillage behind the bar and changes all the time. they support lots of different local micros and keep the place simple and welcoming. Seem to be lots of bizarre events happening all the time - indoor wassailing was one of my best nights last winter. definitely one of the most innovative + best pubs around, deserves more consistent support. 3cheers4beer - 30 Sep 2009 10:18 |
