DIssappointing. Went for lunch, although not overly busy we were advised food would be 25 minutes and were asked how we wanted the food cooked, so we expected something freshly prepared. Starters came out, all very good. Main course arrived, both were just warm and had to be sent back. Replaced with food that had the indications of microwave. Staff had to be reminded for napkins, cutlery for each course. Manageress was rushing round and that gave a feeling of poor organisation. Unlikely I'll go back. Puncharama - 23 Oct 2010 10:58 |
Also meant to add to post below....the bill at the end of the evening had drinks for another table added on! When I went to the bar to buy a bottle of wine, and a round of drinks to finish the evening off, was asked if I had come to settle the meal bill, which had already been paid! All in all, not very impressive. paulineward - 17 Aug 2010 11:36 |
We visited this venue last Saturday (14th August) as guests of our neighbours, to celebrate their 40th Wedding Anniversary. You can accept a venue being a bit pricey, which this is, if the service was good. Not the case. The table was not even set when we got there..and the first waitress to attend to the party was miserable, surly and had a very cold manner. She spoke quite sharply to another guest, and made us all feel uncomfortable. The other staff were okay, but it did spoil the evening somewhat. No atmosphere at all...and somewhere I would not choose to celebrate at. paulineward - 17 Aug 2010 10:35 |
Windmill seems to have improved with recent change of manager although I believe the food still isn't what it should be. Hopefully the new guy will get it back to good again. The locals seem optimistic high.standards.required - 3 Oct 2007 21:34 |
Not so good these days - 2007. Love the place but food and service now pretty desperate. Big fall in standards in my regular favourite. high.standards.required - 6 May 2007 21:35 |
