We were served some very vinegary Marstons last Friday, which we didn't drink.

Average sort of pub.
This is a Marstons establishment, so if offered Pedigree, Marstons Bitter and Jennings Cock a Hoop which was okay enough.
The pub had a bit of a run down, musty smell, but the locals were fine.
Nothing special but reasonable if you want a pint whilst passing through the town.

Not a bad pub. Every town should have a pub like this. I visited a 15.20 on a wednesday afternoon the front room of the bar had 12 over 50's drinking beer and watching the racing. The middle room had a couple of lads watching sky sports news and then 4 lad playing pool at the back. The beer was all from the marstons stable. Burton bridge bitter, Pedigree and the chrismas one 'Ugly sisters'. I had pedigree which I couldn't fault it was poured well, had a perfect head and kept its life right to the end.
An honest local.
