Managed to finally get to visit this pub the other week and the place was better than I expected. Much bigger than I thought once inside and A fairly cosy pubby feel to the place. Pints of ale were good and had a decent juke box too. One of the better pubs in Ilfracombe high street. 8/10 montie49 - 16 Feb 2016 17:54 |
Everytime i go past this place it looks like it is closed or for sale. I am not local so don't know the ins and outs. Can anyone explain to me what is happening to this pub? montie49 - 28 Sep 2013 15:18 |

A group of nine of us including a two year old child were made very welcome at The Bunch of Grapes on Sunday 17th April 2004. This was our first visit to Ilfracome our experiance there will ensure that we return. We had a very nice Sunday lunch of Beef, Pork and Chicken meals with a small portion provided for the child. The price was between 4.50 & 4.99 which was good value. the meal consisted of mashed and roast potatoes, swede, cabbage, carrots, brocoli and stuffing, portions were sufficent for all, there was also extra gravy and apple sauce etc. Drinks prices were in line with others in the area, more expensive than I would usually expect in the South Wales Valleys, however, they were competative for the rest of the area. The interior of the pub was clean with a rustic appearance the staff were very polite and helpful. We did after all rearrange the furniture so that the nine of us could sit together. There was a pool table 50p a game and a juke box, which was a litle to loud for Sunday lunch time. Overall a 9/10 rating as far as our company of first time visitors was concerned. I will definatley eat at the Bunch of Grapes on my next visit to Ilfracombe in May Mike Jones - 22 Apr 2004 07:20 |
