Had couple of pints in there before going to Thai restaurant over road - friendly staff and locals, made us welcome. Two ales on the go (both GK I think) and another house ale which I think is also brewed by GK - had the latter and (as advised by gentleman at the bar) the beer was very good condition. kernott1 - 7 Oct 2013 19:57 |
I've been using the G and B for a while now. The staff are welcoming and the beer well looked after. I don't understand the bit about people feeling threatened. The customers are amixed bunch, comprising of ex Foresters customers and locals who have drank there for years. All in all, a good town pub. The only downside is that they are a bit more pricy than some. arduis - 14 Mar 2011 09:31 |
I have just read the comment that was posted on december 15th 2009 and i am absolutly shocked about the allagations made. I have been going into the goat and boot for the past year now and i can say that i have not once felt threatened or nervous. The customers are all very friendly and the bar staff are exceptionally polite. I have never suspected anybody of taking any illegal substances on the premisis. The goat and boot is a happy welcoming family pub that has changed dramatically in the last year. I would recommend that you go and have a drink there and see for yourself. HAPPY NEW YEAR =) 3mm4 - 3 Jan 2010 22:14 |
Always enjoyed stopping of here for a couple or three on the way home from town. But I now hear that the current landlord's throwing the towel in - anyone know when? Wheel154 - 19 Mar 2008 15:48 |
