Stopped briefly this time last year after collecting new puppy, & a flying visit to nearby Cleeve Abbey, but have no detailed pub notes. Maybe 3 real ales & whatever I had was good, friendly service, comfortably rustic interior. Separate beer garden, part decked & covered, on other side of road, also skittle alley housed in its own building. Mostly, I just found my photo to load & am commenting as best I can... They were happy for us to bring the adult dog in, I notice their website offers decent value accommodation. trainman - 15 Sep 2008 15:14 |
A friendly enough country pub. It's near a cider farm, but I saw Blackthorne's on tap. I asked if that was the only cider they had. She offered me a local "bit of rough" from a jug. It was worth asking for, but I was happy to get some local rough stuff I forgot to notice what ales were on the pumps. We got seats by the very hot woodstove. I thought it too warm but my companion wanted to be toasty so was quite happy. Large carpark across the road. The have a passenger van with the the pub logo. Perhaps they meet the steam train in Washford? I should have asked? YoYo - 29 Dec 2006 15:52 |
