trendy place, expensive drinks, not enough room to stand in when busy so all in all a typical central london bar/club. downstairs music is good and atmosphere relaxed but upstairs, due to the lack of room to move, some people can get a bit aggressive. one to go to after beeing somewhere else and turning up for a drink fulled dance downstairs. londonloon - 8 May 2012 11:15 |
The interior resembles a brothel in mourning, the drapes, sofas and chandeliers all in shades of black and decorated with diamante. All of it overly ostentatious and devoid of taste. The bar staff, when they got round to serving you, were quick but their surly attitude made you feel as though you had somehow wronged them deeply, as if you had killed and eaten a beloved family pet. The beer was flat, even from bottles freshly opened. This is quite a talent. The music was awful. That said, it may have been the best music in the world but the venue seemed to have only installed sub-woofers rather than the full gambit of normal speakers. I would rather undergo invasive surgery without anaesthetic than return. vlos61 - 2 Dec 2011 12:41 |
Decent enough trendy wine bar if that is what you're after. No real beer obviously, and the bottled stuff is expensive. Sort of place you'd go to impress your young lady, not for a beer with your mates if you catch my drift. mrse1 - 8 Sep 2009 13:03 |
This is a small trendy wine bar with only Staropramen on tap, not that the clientele could care less as they were all drinking white wine. This is one to avoid if you have a personality or enjoy pubs. Strongers - 31 Aug 2009 22:24 |
Terrible place - absolutely soulless, foreign speaking bar staff (as usual) who couldn't understand a word I said and everyone inside spent their time looking at other people. Don't go here - save your money and go to The Coach and Horses round the corner. ambrose32 - 24 Aug 2007 12:39 |
