| Ignore the old reviews This is a proper, well-run, civilised town pub offering good beers (inc 2 or 3 real ales) & decent well-priced food. Sky Sports and (most of) BT Sport shown on several screens - 3 channels can be shown at once. Excellent wi-fi Bands on most Saturdays. 2 skittle alleys and a beer garden at the back. Carpark outside No bad behaviour is accepted but it's a lively enough atmosphere with plenty of banter, depending on where you choose to sit/stand. | I left a post on this pub some time ago pointing out that the so called cask conditioned ale tasted more like keg. This post was removed, probably at the request of the pub, but the fact remains that the so called real ale is nothing of the sort. They have spent some money on a minor refurb since my last vist; new carpets and such like, but essentially it remains the same, and best avoided. there are better pubs in Taunton, a town not overly blessed with good pubs by any means Dr_Pangloss - 23 Feb 2011 22:38 |
