Building is dated 1317. Former Cottages/agricultural buildings. Timber framed. Grade II listed. Mainly setup for dining - but what an environment, with the exposed beams and lovely furniture. Beers not so impressive - typical marstons fayre - wainwright and pedigree. Pedi a bit tired and this is only a pint that works when kept exceptionally well. 10 for the architecture. 6 for the beer. Gourmet Club member so reduced rates. Currently offering 2 for 1 on main courses lunch times Monday to Saturday. Food excellent although service can be exceedingly slow. Well kept real ales and guest beers. paulreiki - 26 Feb 2009 13:55 |
Just had a meal there which was superb and very reasonably priced. Very attractive pub. Will be going again looktogo - 19 Jul 2007 21:02 |
this was a big disappointment when we went recently. we'd heard it had changed hands and hoped for an improvement, but if anything it had gone down hill. menu looked promising, but food was average at best. Service was the only redeeming feature. sburrows - 21 Jan 2007 13:32 |
Lovely Characterful pub that has been modernised but not to the extreme, it has a large beer garden, good sized lounge area with open fires and sofas and a restaurant. It is a tad pricey both to eat and drink at but you get what you pay for, nice, relaxed surroundings. WanderingWoman - 13 Dec 2006 16:31 |
