| This pub has now been reopened for a while, with a slight change of name: "Dale Hotel" or similar as I note. It's a solid traditional stone building, but inside is light, airy. well laid out, and tastefully decorated. It still has a dartboard, happily though, and comfortable, modern fittings. The Thwaites range was good: I had an excellent pint of Coiled Spring. There were two dark and two pale ales on, and Wainwrights too. There's an associated Thai restaurant, so looks like a decent venue if visiting the beautifully located smart village of Denby Dale. 8/10 eddybeer - 16 May 2014 16:38 |

| Quiet bar with Pool table (50p) and TV, Cask ale unavailable when we called but a farourable alternative was on tap. Indian restaurant between the pub and the station and possibly more in the town.... Denby Dale station was only 10 minutes walk (no where near the 2.3 miles shown) - Just don't go through the subway when you leave the platform (2 x exits). goodhead - 21 Jan 2009 00:05 |
