| 17th century timber framed building with mid-19th century alterations and additions. Not sure what would qualify as a good range of ales for this part of rural Worcestershire but it didn't disappoint me given that this is the only pub selling Batham's Bitter for miles around and in superb condition too! Wye Valley HPA and Bank's Amber Bitter were also on handpull. The pub also has more than one dining area. On bank holidays they only sell ciabatta rolls which were good value although a little basic. | A busy pub with a reasonably small bar area and another small dining area. For some reason, the garden was also busy with families and a couple of small horses grazing. I thought I'd had one too many, when I first spotted the nags. The ale range was a bit disappointing - Bathams Bitter, Banks's Bitter, St Austell Tribute & Wye Valley HPA. No real cider. | Great pub with absolutely top class Bathams on offer! We called in on a bike ride at around 3pm on Sunday and they were still doing a roaring trade, unfortunately we had to get back to Worcester before dark so only stayed for one. Didnt eat but food looked good. bike2beer - 14 Jan 2012 17:58 |
| Tried this on the strength of the reviews. Its pretty but, despite being a country pub and having a tiled bar area - no dogs. That lost them �40 worth of business and no return visits. | Well let me tell you this... My name is McNally and my Grandad went to this pub for years. He knew everyone and he used to play the piano there. In them days everyone new the McNally's as they were regulars who enjoyed the pub as much as the locals. It has alot of history the Galton Arms with my family. My father and his brothers used to ride on motorbikes from Birmingham in the 60's and 70's. When i was young my dad said 'we are goin out to the country'. I remember when i was about 15 havin a coke with ice in the carpark while my dad was busy chatting to the locals and talking about the characters his father knew. At that time when he asked many had gone. When i was 18, that was the last time i visited it with my father.
