Slightly more restaurant rather than pub but very pleasant indeed. I turned up with wife and 6 year old without a reservation. We were treated extremely well by the very polite staff who re-jigged and found a table for us.
Beer was 3 hand pumps - Adnams Ghost Ship, GK IPA and Abbots. No great shakes there.
Food was trying to be gastro with very fancy presentation and service but was fairly normal - nothing great but nothing poor.
Overall, a well organised and friendly place for a beer and food. I'd happily go back when next in the area.

Not impressed by this pub or the staff.
I phoned on the Tuesday to check if they were serving food on the following Sunday night as it was a special occasion and my party consisted of four people.
I was informed I didn't need to book and asked the time of my arrival.
On turning up at 19:30 on the Sunday, I asked for the menu and was told that they only had what was on the 'specials' board which consisted of about four meals. However in addition to this, two of the specials were not available.
Not good. 2/10

Personally, I don't think the outside appearance does much to invite you in. (Probably those words 'Greene King'). However my wife and I tried it for lunch this week and it certainly delivered. Apparently the newish landlord used to be an area manager for the brewery, and was sure he could run it better than the then incumbent. Well, he's doing a decent job. Homemade pies are excellent - on our visit the choices were chicken and mushroom or lamb and apricot. Also the staff were friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return.

Very attractive pub from the outside, but I haven't been inside
