Now open after refurb and what a superb job they have done. Same owners as Bulls Head down the road. Felt like a kid in a candy store when I went in last week. This pub can now rival the finest in the land for atmosphere, food and drink. 4 ales on, all in top form. You’ve got to take your hats off to these people, The Church gets a rare 10 out of 10 from me. Have a look at their website and you will see what I mean. juninhocrunch - 2 Oct 2013 11:35 |
Under new management as of 4 December, Bev & Lee now run the Church Inn. Lee is a greta cook and Bev always gives a warm welcome, well worth a visit. Richard_L - 8 Dec 2008 22:30 |
It's alright and the landlord works hard to keep his beer and standard good. I support him and wish him well. Good Jennings on tap. Worth a visit. high.standards.required - 3 Oct 2007 21:51 |
We have eaten here twice now. The first time was alongside an organised wine tasting. The food (a set meal) was excellent, beautifully presented, generous helpings and cooked just right. The menu was interesting but making good use of seasonal produce. The staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The second time we visited as a family, this time early evening. Again, the food and service were excellent. The children's meals, while not cheap, were very high quality and large quantities. The Black Sheep ale was in good condition, as was the other real ale on tap (can't remember which it was). On each occasion the bar and restaurant staff have been courteous, welcoming and helpful. All-round: a nice country pub, with good food. A pleasant experience. anonymous - 3 Aug 2007 13:50 |
