After a visit to the nearby Minster & Monkton Royal British Legion Club, the New Inn was my second port of call in this Thanet village. The New Inn appears to be a food-dominated pub, situated on a corner. It has a fairly large garden with children's play equipment. 4 ales were on - Sharps Coaster, Gadds No. 7, Hogs Back Tea & Shepherd Neame Master Brew. The second best place in the village. But still pretty ordinary. blue_scrumpy - 19 Apr 2017 20:08 |
New owners are trying to turn this place into a "Wine Bar" style place (only without the wine bar clientele). Beer ok although very expensive. No pool table/darts/tv/music (although they now have a bar billiards table) so may suit some. No swearing (even in a private conversation between two adults). However, the main downfall of this place is the sheer rudeness from the owners who seemingly look upon their customers as getting in the way of them running their "pub". I won't be returning in a hurry until they learn some manners. bigfletch - 15 Nov 2011 11:38 |

"bobinman" - rest assured the windows are even better when you are sitting inside the best of Minster's three pubs. I enjoyed a couple of very good pints of Skipton Brewery's "Copper Dragon" on Tuesday last! The two usual Greene King offerings were also available, but hey - you can get them at most places now. Service friendly and impeccable as usual. A good place to go for a spot of lunch as well, and won't put a big dent in your bank balance. What's more, you do not come out smelling like a deep-fat fryer - "The Bell" - please take note. Just 100yds along from the New Inn is The Saddlers - a Shep's pub. There's a rumour afoot that the pub may be on the market soon. As stated, the New Inn is the best in the village. Long may it remain thus. 7/10 5thearlofwimbourne - 7 Oct 2006 17:09 |
