Great pub. Would suggest that they serve some of the best homemade burgers around. pchaimba - 26 Feb 2014 22:53 |
Brakespear pub serving Bitter and Ringwood with Oxford Gold clip turned around. Enthusiastic and friendly staff. Open all day. Don't visit if you don't like dogs! cheshirecat - 18 Aug 2010 09:25 |
Went in a couple off weeks ago & good as ever. Beer always in good nick & locals very friendly tho' having a dog always seems to help! Like MinsterWinst, only tried here a few years ago for the 1st time as The Dog had shut down & the new couple that welcomed us have been running a pretty tight ship ever since. rearadmiral - 12 Jul 2010 10:17 |
Went in last Sunday and the pub is under new management. A young couple who seemed very friendly and welcoming. Food was excellent and service seems to have improved 100%. It was busy and there were plenty of staff to manage the lunchtime rush. Would easily recommend now that new management are running the pub. Has LCD TV to watch now too! A small but homely, and now freindly traditional English pub. No themes and loud music here...which is just what I like. fat_stu - 18 May 2007 21:42 |
Went to this pub early on a Saturday evening having played golf nearby and because The Dog over the road was shut. Like the anonymous reviewer we did not feel at all welcome. Sometimes go walking in the area but have not and will not be going back. The Unicorn down the road at Kingwood is a far better, friendlier pub with great food. MisterWinst - 13 Jan 2007 18:58 |
